They were so comfortable we looked up the tag, wrote it down and then bought a pair online when we got home. I have had allergies to down pillows in the past as a child but I have no problems with these at all. From what I understand they are washed several times by the manufacturer with the thought of making them hypoallergenic. They never go flat like the foam pillows because they are down.Some people talk about mattresses making the difference for a good night's sleep, I am all about these great pillows! These pillows were absolutely heaven for the first night - then an odd smell began to emanate from them, which got proceedingly stronger and stronger as the week went on. Then we tried to wash them (exactly the way the care instructions and the Pacific Coast website instructed). The smell did not go away, in fact it got STRONGER!! I can't describe the foul nature of the smell, it was like, a rotting duck behind. Maybe they didn't wash the pillow feathers right - maybe we had TWO defective sets of pillows?? WHO KNOWS? More importantly, I emailed Pacific Coast to TELL THEM and received NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER. WILL RETURN!!
